RTX Largo FL is looking for a highly motivated individual to work as a Cyber Security Engineering Intern on securing network systems for military operations. The work will require a person with a broad range of skill sets and interests; from infrastructure builds, application installation and configurations to developing cutting edge solutions using system, security, and integration techniques.

Key responsibilities for the qualified candidate include:

This role encompasses a wide range of cyber engineering activities associated with the NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF), including:

• Analyze customer security requirements
• Evaluate network security architectures
• Assess implementation of security controls
• Integrate systems into customer operational networks
• Validate secure configuration of routers, switches, firewalls, servers, operating systems, applications, and other assets, using DoD approved scanning and assessment tools such as  ACAS, STIG, SCAP Compliance Checker, and HBSS
• Apply written and oral communication skills
• Participate in the design and development of systems

Security Clearance & Other Requirements:

The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance.  U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Required Skills:

Experience with one or more or more of the following:

• Windows Operating System
• Linux Operating System
• Scripting

Computer Hardware and Software installation

Ability to work under the leadership of senior engineers

Technical writing skills

Communication writing skills

Desired Skills:

• CompTIA Network+ certification
• CompTIA Security+ certification

Required Education:

Candidate must be enrolled in an accredited college or university, pursuing a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) by Fall 2022
