7th Annual Nonprofit Appreciation Day: A Celebration of Impact and Community
Rivero, Gordimer & Company’s 7th Annual Nonprofit Appreciation Day was a resounding success! Held on October 30, 2024, at Higgins Hall in Tampa, this highly anticipated event brought together nonprofit leaders, supporters, and changemakers for a morning of inspiration, connection, and learning. The event set the stage for meaningful dialogue and collaboration while celebrating the incredible impact our Tampa Bay nonprofits have on the local community.
2024 Community Impact Leader Award
A key event highlight was the presentation of the RGCO 2024 Community Impact Leader Award to the Glazer Family Foundation. The award recognizes organizations making significant contributions to the community, and the Glazer Family Foundation exemplifies this through its impactful initiatives and dedication to supporting local causes. Accepting the award on behalf of the Foundation, Darcie Glazer Kassewitz delivered heartfelt remarks that resonated deeply with attendees, highlighting the importance of giving back and inspiring others to take action. This moment served as a powerful reminder of the positive ripple effects nonprofits create when they are supported and celebrated.
Dynamic Panels and Insightful Discussions
The event featured a lineup of influential speakers and engaging panels:
- Cultural/Arts Panel moderated by Liz Wooten-Reschke of Connect for More, with insights from ZooTampa at Lowry Park, Ruth Eckerd Hall, Tampa Museum of Art, and Glazer Children’s Museum.
- Joanne Sullivan, Assistant Vice President of Community Engagement at USF Health, gave an impactful talk on cultivating donor relationships, emphasizing respect, passion, and genuine engagement as the cornerstones of successful development efforts.
Engaging and Actionable Takeaways
Speakers shared actionable insights on marketing, donor communication, and leadership. A standout quote from Joanne Sullivan resonated with attendees:
“Donors deserve to be treated with respect, affection, and attention. If that isn’t what you’re doing, start doing it.”
