Post-Grad Intern Adventures in CSI Business Analytics

I wanted to share some highlights from my first couple of weeks as a CSI Business Analyst intern in the Quality Assurance (QA) Department. It’s been quite the journey so far diving into the world of enterprise systems and financial management. Let me walk you through how my college education seamlessly integrated into my internship experience and my plans for the future!

Applying University Courses to Internship

Remember those days in university when we thought ERP systems and Software Programs were just theoretical concepts? Well, turns out they’re the bread and butter of my internship at CSI! My Enterprise Resource Planning, Systems Analysis, and Business Systems courses prepared me for this internship. I’ve been able to apply my knowledge of ERP modules to understand how different business functions integrate within CSI’s operations. Systems analysis has helped me break down complex processes and identify areas for improvement, while my statistics and analytics background has given me a solid foundation to analyze budget proposals and cost structures within various internal systems. And let’s not forget integration systems, which have been crucial in understanding how data flows between different departments and systems.

Career Opportunities and Future Plans

One thing that’s become clear to me is the vast array of career opportunities in business analysis, especially within a global company like CSI. I’ve had the chance to interact with professionals from different departments and even collaborate on international projects with executive Melissa Fulmore-Hardwick. It’s eye-opening to see how business analysts play a pivotal role in shaping strategies that impact not just local operations but also international relations. I have had the pleasure of working with my fellow intern, Robert Bright (Accounting Intern) on multiple projects, shaping CSI Operations to pivot in a dynamic environment. My goal is to continue honing my skills in systems analysis, with a keen interest in exploring how technology can drive CSI’s growth on a global scale through our partner countries.

Tech and Innovation in Business Analysis

Speaking of technology, CSI Companies is at the forefront of the Tech and Healthcare industries. From AI-powered analytics tools to cloud-based ERP systems, technology is reshaping how we approach business analysis. I’ve had hands-on experience with software that automates data collection and integrations, which has streamlined decision-making processes and enhanced efficiency across departments such as QA, HR, Finance, Accounting, and Global Operations. Learning to adapt to these technological advancements has been both challenging and rewarding, and I’m excited to see how these innovations will continue to transform the business landscape.

Advancing within CSI

I’m eager to leverage my internship experience to advance within CSI. The company’s commitment to nurturing talent and fostering a culture of innovation gives me confidence that there are ample opportunities for career growth. Whether it’s specializing in a particular aspect of business analysis or taking on leadership roles in international projects, I’m motivated to contribute meaningfully to CSI’s mission of driving sustainable growth through data-driven insights.

In conclusion, my journey as a CSI Business Analyst intern has been incredibly enriching so far. It’s amazing to see how the theories and concepts I studied in university are coming to life in a real-world corporate setting. I’m grateful for the opportunity to learn, grow, and contribute to CSI’s success, and I can’t wait to see what the future holds in this dynamic field!
