Florida Insurance Center is opening a new office in St. Petersburg to capitalize on its hundreds of existing local clients in the greater St. Pete area. Florida Insurance Center brings nearly 50 years of service as a trusted supplier meeting family and business insurance needs.
Choosing the Sunshine City
Florida Insurance Center’s main office is located in Plant City. The company had been looking to expand into a new market since before the pandemic. While they looked at other Florida locations, their existing customer base in St. Petersburg/Pinellas County was an area “where we were already experiencing great success,” according to Chief Operating Officer Jake Austin. “We chose St. Pete due to our existing customer base, our carrier appetites, availability of talent, local culture, and yes… the beauty!”
Florida Insurance Center is temporarily located at 100 Corey Avenue in St. Pete Beach. The company has hired a local broker and is actively searching for a long-term real estate solution in the St. Petersburg area. The St. Pete office will provide a full range of insurance and risk management solutions with retail and back office operations. There currently are two employees in St. Pete with plans to grow to 10 employees over the next 24-36 months.

Making Community Connections
Florida Insurance Center has supported economic development organizations throughout the state for several years and reached out to the St. Pete EDC for advice. The St. Pete EDC provided counsel on finding office space, talent and workforce development, and making connections with local government. FIC is eager to “Become St. Pete,” with Austin saying, “Florida Insurance Center is proud to be a new member of the St Pete area business community. Our intention is not only to benefit from St Pete’s assets but to do what we can to invest our time and resources to maintain the momentum.”
