Cyber threats are on the rise, and there are significant concerns about the 2024 election cycle. Even if votes are not affected, a cyber attack can have a devastating impact on your networks, and perceptions of election integrity. Unfortunately, it is when, not if, you will suffer a cyber attack.
To help you prepare for the inevitable cyber attack, on 8 May 2024 from 10 AM to 4 PM, Cyber Florida at the University of South Florida, in partnership with Norwich University Applied Research Institute (NUARI) and Pasco Sheriff’s Office, will host an in-person Election Security TableTop Exercise (TTX) in the Tampa area. Venue / location will depend on the number of players and observers.
The scenario for this TTX, as well as accompanying threat and information briefings, are appropriate for Supervisor of Elections (SOEs) leadership and personnel who manage their networks, whether internal IT staff, county IT, or contractor. Ideally, each county will bring 3 to 5 players representing both leadership and IT. We also encourage observers from each county, e.g., PIO, Emergency Management, Sheriff’s Office, and any others who would be involved in a cyber incident.
There is no cost to attend, but players and observers must be state or local government employees or contractors. Lunch will be provided.
