The ODP Corporation is looking for a Lead Cybersecurity Engineer – Cloud Security to design security controls and help validate that our services, applications, and emerging technologies are designed and implemented to the highest security standards.
The Lead Cybersecurity Engineer – Cloud Security position is a hybrid role combining key aspects of Security Architecture and Engineering.
This position requires the selected candidate to possess business insight, technical acuity, and the ability to think, communicate and write at various levels of abstraction.
This position contributes to improving our Information Security program through formal Information Security Architecture processes that deliver consistent, optimal and resilient solutions that satisfy the business requirements in a secure manner.
This position requires work on multiple projects as a project leader or as the subject matter expert and is expected to coach and mentor more junior technical staff.
Primary Responsibility:
Provide hands-on technical expertise to design, engineer, deploy, and deliver secure Cloud services including driving improvements in technical architecture, standards, and processes.
Leverage cloud native and third-party tools to provide insight into the current cloud security posture.
Detect, review, and make recommendations regarding cloud security threats and vulnerabilities.
Develop playbooks and automation for the repeatable deployment of system components and performing routine management/deployment tasks.
Analyze the security of applications and services, discovers, and addresses security issues, builds security automation, and decisively takes action to mitigate emerging threats throughout a full secure development lifecycle (SDLC).
Serve as a security expert in application development, database design, network and/or platform (operating system) efforts, helping project teams comply with enterprise and IT security policies, industry regulations, and best practices.
Ensure security architecture standards and solutions meet business objectives and regulatory compliance requirements.
Provide a leadership role in the development, implementation and maintenance of consistent application and infrastructure architecture security programs.
Evaluate third party products and services to verify that they meet security standards and will integrate seamlessly and securely into the IT computing architecture.
Education & Experience
Level of Formal Education: Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
Area of Study: MIS, Cybersecurity, or technical degree
Years of Experience: 5+ years’ experience in Information Security
Type of Experience: Minimum of 10 years combined IT and security work experience, with a broad exposure to application, infrastructure, network, and multiplatform environments
Special Certifications:
Professional security certification, such as a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), GIAC Certified Web Application Defender (GWEB), or other similar credentials.
Language Skills: English
Technical Competencies:
Expert knowledge in secure architecture and design, automation, integration, and deployment (Secure DevOps)
Strong experience with compliance & security standards across the enterprise IT landscape
Proven experience building security reference architecture for all-in cloud deployments and hybrid scenarios
Significant technical expertise in Cloud Computing technologies, scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, etc.), integrating third-party monitoring tools, encryption tools and best practices, and forensics
Implementation experience with edge security solutions such as WAF, Bot and DDOS mitigation
Familiarity with compliance & security standards across the enterprise IT landscape
Working knowledge of cloud computing technologies and workload transition challenges
Familiarity with archive, backup/recovery, and business continuity processes in distributed operations
Demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges
Professional experience with Infrastructure as code tools (Ansible, CloudFormation, Terraform, etc.)
Expert knowledge of security issues, techniques, and implications across existing cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, and OCI)
Professional experience working as an integral part of an Agile team
Professional experience with secure API design consuming service endpoints
Professional experience with CI/CD pipeline automation
Professional experience with Kubernetes and/or Docker to manage containerized applications
Well-rounded knowledge of multiple Information Security domains
Experience implementing security solutions that resolve security and business risk trade-offs
Experience with one or more programming languages (such as Java, Golang) for the purpose of code review
An understanding of networking and communication protocols (such as TCP/IP, UDP, SSL/TLS, IPSEC, HTTPS, BGP)
An understanding of cryptography, web service frameworks, mobile application architectures, and service architectures (such as event-driven, service-oriented, or serverless architectures)
Familiarity with reverse engineering or vulnerability research
Familiarity with physical, infrastructure, or hardware security
Strong written and verbal communication skills with an ability to communicate deep technical issues in terms of business risk with non-experts and senior leaders
