Tony Urbanovich, is the Chief Technology Officer at The Florida Center for Cybersecurity: Cyber Florida. In this role, he supports the Center’s mission requirements, particularly in the areas of education and research. He is responsible for the Center’s technology platforms that support the 12 institutions of higher learning that comprise the State University System of Florida.
Mr. Urbanovich has over 25 years of senior strategy and technology executive experience in the commercial and government sectors focused on cybersecurity, privacy, governance, compliance, and third-party risk. His focus has included supporting senior executives in the financial services, technology, and international sectors, including cybersecurity product and program development. He has led projects and managed teams focused on cybersecurity program design and implementation, cybersecurity operations (threat management, data protection, network security management, application security management, vulnerability, and configuration management), and cybersecurity incident response at the national, sectoral, and enterprise levels.
Mr. Urbanovich has held positions as the CEO of Cyber Insight LLC, where he provided subject matter expert cybersecurity advisory and consulting. He previously served as the COO at CyberGRX where he co-developed a third-party risk assessment as a service platform. As Vice President of Security Assurance at American Express, he was responsible for the development and implementation of enterprise-wide programs designed to prevent and reduce information security risk. As a Principal on the Commercial Cyber Team at Booz Allen Hamilton Mr. Urbanovich focused on threat intelligence, cyber incident response, governance, risk, and compliance. As Vice President of Privacy, Ethics, and Compliance at ChoicePoint (now LexisNexis), he co-built and oversaw the data privacy, compliance, and auditing program following a major data breach.
Mr. Urbanovich is a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He holds a B.A. from the University of Maryland University College as well as CISM and CIPP/US certifications. In addition, he is a CMMC – Registered Professional.
