Sarasota InfoSec Community Talk – Rob Fitzgerald of Green Pages
March 10th @ 5:30 pm - 9:00 pm
Incident Response: 20 years of putting out fires and fixing the broken
Tonight we are going to have a real conversation about what it’s like to be involved in a true Incident Response (IR) event, what to be aware of, how to work through them, the aftermath(!), and maybe even how to prevent them… or prevent them from being so disastrous!
As a testifying expert, Rob has spent much of his career not focused on the nation-state attacks we all read about in the paper, but instead dealing with breach of contracts, IP theft, employee scandal, divorces, crime syndicates, and more. While walking us through real (names sanitized to protect the innocent) cases, he will tie in ideas and actionable steps the audience can take to be better prepared for an incident and protected from an incidents’ damage.
He plans on talking to everyday operations, preparation, in-the-moment discussions, and how to move forward through the incident and beyond.
Come join us as he shares his story and you share yours while we build better awareness and protections around Incident Response.
Rob is the Security, Risk, & Compliance Practice Director for GreenPages Technology Solutions. As the Practice Director, Rob is responsible for designing and building the overall program, including all the Security, Risk, & Compliance services and offerings GreenPages brings to market. Rob has spent the past 20 years building and supporting security programs.
As the founder of The Lorenzi Group, Rob built a digital forensics and incident response consulting firm that worked with clients globally and helped set precedence for expert witness testimony. After building a user-based analytics (UBA) tool that organizations utilized for predicting insider threats, he sold the company and went to work as the head of Infosec for computer chip manufacturer, Hittite Corporation. During his tenure at Hittite, he built out a robust security and compliance program and supported the transition of ownership to chip manufacturer, Analog Devices.
Post Analog, Rob joined the Cybersecurity Advisory Practice of PWC Consulting and supported multiple financial services executives with Program development and implementation. While at PWC, Mandiant Consulting, a FireEye company, recruited Rob to join the Northeast (NYC) team to support, build and run the New England. Rob went on to join an appsec start-up based in Australia, and then joined the boutique, Boston-based consulting firm, Norwell Technology Group (NTG). NTG was acquired by GreenPages in 2018, where Rob continues to lead the Security, Risk, & Compliance Practice.
Rob and his wife, Sarah, live in Massachusetts where they have 3 kids, Connor, Victoria, and Zachary, and a dog named Arthur.
